That's great news. It just sucks that you had to deal with this at all, but sh** happens. Or so they say.

It's all done in the fuse box above the radiator.
I want to thank you sir for posting this TSB. I havent had any problems with my 2014, but did order the kit and install it as a preventative measure after reading your post here. I checked around a bit and it appears to be a pretty common issue.

I installed it this morning and noticed the small gauge wiring. Just an observation of mine, but I don't think the small gauge wiring feeding the fuse slots is whats causing the problem as the same gauge wire feeding slot 27 is also feeding slot 70, where the fuse is relocated. The blue/red wire that needs to be cut and spliced going to the fuel pump relay is significantly thicker gauge and the whip that the kit provides is an equal gauge. Where I think the problem lies is with the goofy new style fuses these trucks have. While I didn't have anything melted, when I pulled the fuse out, I noticed on the blades there was a black dimple on both sides burned pretty deep into one blade, this must be where the socket contacts the fuse. My thoughts is that the problem comes from the small contact area and such a large draw generating heat from a poor connection. The square type fuse that it has been changed to allows full blade contact. Any thoughts on this? Im not trying to say that the paperclip wiring doesn't have anything to do with it, but the contact area is just something else I noticed I was wondering if you noticed the same thing.

Also a PSA to anyone with a 5.0 or 6.2, when you have a chance to lift the hood and pull fuse #27 for inspection do it. My truck exhibited no signs of trouble, but when I pulled the fuse after the relocation I noticed the dimples worn into the blades. I pulled a couple more to compare and none of the others have this. While it may have been a while before I experienced a problem, Im glad I did this at my convenience and not out of necessity or having to pay a garage to do it 200 miles away from home.

Great write up and that was my thinking too. Didn't want to get stranded on rainy night far from home or the motor quits while in the left lane of a crowded interstate.
