I have been racking my brain on this headlight question. On my 59 F100. The low beams work fine. When I hit the dimmer switch the passages side highbeams go on. the driver side outer light goes dim and the inner light stays off. I have swapped bulbs I have put a volt meter on the wiring inside the hood. both red and green wires have 12 volts when appropriate. What am I doing wrong. I have a wire diagram could it be the dimmer? although shouldn't that affect both lights?

 

I would check the grounds. A volt drop test would find it quick. I'm not good at explaining that simple process so you might want to google it.

 

Thanks Willow, Although I knew the volt drop test, i had not used it. I go sucked into the front prob testing. I found that the ground for that side was not sufficient. Thanks again Willow. I know I joined this forum for a reason!
