Hey guys...I am REALLY hoping that you all can help me out.
I have the opportunity to purchase a 2006 Mountaineer 4.6L V8 for only $3600
The truck does have 151,000 miles ....but is in really good shape.
Everything seems to work, and it drives really nice. No clunks, rattles, or hums....and no leaks or rust. The carfax is clean, and has 37 maintenance records....oil and filter documented since 4,750 miles until now, and spark plugs replaced at 102,000.
One of my concerns is that there is no mention of a transmission fluid change, nor anything with the transfer case or differentials. Should I be concerned?
Also...how reliable are these trucks? I know the engine is rock solid...but 151,000 on a Ford Tranny?
I am not familiar with anything Ford/Lincoln/Mercury...so ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

I just alled the dealership where it was serviced. They said Ford doesnt schedule service to the tranny, transfer case, or differentials until 150,000....maybe that is why he is selling it. Its going to be about $600.00 maintenance. Does this sound correct?
