89 F-150 Safety Fail, Body-Mount Bushings

Hi everyone,

So, I've been working on getting my 89' on the road and had it in for a provincial safety inspection today. It failed on a few frame rust areas which are not a major issue to address as I can fix them myself. However there was a body mount bushing located at the front right corner of the frame, just above the lower rad support that I need to replace (top and bottom, hardware too most likely) Unfortunately these bushings are ludicrously expensive from the stealership at 200$ for the set due to them being discontinued. Does anyone know of a newer model body mount bushing that would be interchangeable that wouldn't cost so much? Or maybe an aftermarket supplier that can supply them who can also ship to Canada and do so within a weeks timeframe? I need to get all these repairs finished within 14 days to avoid paying for the safety inspection a second time.

I know I'm probably asking for a lot here, and worst case scenario I'll go get a couple hockeypucks and turn them down to size on a lathe. Just figured I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has run into the same issue.

Cheers,

In addition to hockey pucks, consider one or more sections of flat belts. Flat belts are usually softer with lots of flex when compressed slightly.

When you say flat belts, do you mean a series of stacked rubber belts? Or is there a sort of bulk industrial rubber that I could cut the bushing from?

You might call LMC truck parts and see what the shipping to Canada is like. Bushings are $45 US per side for each pair.

Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

Hope this helps.
