My first thought was that they must have used a paint brush. It is sad to be having that much of an issue with paint so soon.

My frustration is the workmanship from a Ford dealership. Even after the second attempt. How and why would a manager not have put thier eyes on that?

Is there another dealer in your area? Dealers are a franchise, not a Ford subsidiarity. Right or wrong, I'm not sure what they will do for you with it being on the top of the truck. You might get told that it is sealed, and the integrity of the truck is sound. I hope this isn't the case, but be prepared to hear it.

OMG I pray I do not hear that or I will end up in jail. Although the integrity is sound it is still a factory defe t that they made worse. But I guess Ill find out tomorrow.

As far as another Ford dealer there are quite a few. But only 2 with bodyshops that I am aware of.

i'd be pissed on a new vehicle, or even a used one if it was a really clean used truck otherwise. my 01 excursion i believe is paint cracking in the same area, my dads 01 excursion too i believe. i'd have to double check but i think my 04 f350 (with only 45k miles) probably has it too. seems to be worse here in florida being in the sun all day. since my truck is a work truck i don't mind, i keep it clean, but i don't worry about scratches etc on this truck otherwise i would never wanna haul with it lol.

my excursion i want to build up and paint down the road so not worried on that either.

but those pics you posted, that body work is HORRIBLE. i can't believe a human being actually looked at that and let it leave their shop. i can see a mom and pop shop, but damn, a dealer....that's horrible. hope everything works out for you.

Every dealership has an affiliation to one or two body shops. They sometimes deal with a few to find the best quality of work; after all their customer service reputation depends on it. The body shop does not have to be on premises for it's work to be guaranteed by the dealership.

The dealer you went to, apparently, has no regards for customer whatsoever!
They probably don't care about the Yelp, Facebook, Twitter, etc. reviews that people leave online about them.

Contact a couple of other dealers and get their opinion on how to proceed with this incomplete warranty work.

And contact a regional or district manager of some kind to report this terrible work too. Go as far up the chain as you can.

Worse would be gaps and rust. Like you posted in your initial pictures, but I guess I get what you are trying to achieve, short of getting your money back or a new truck.

i know some don't care about it, i had an issue with my local Ford dealer that i bought my truck from, couldn't get my issue fixed. posted a complaint/bad review on their facebook page while i was out of town for a few days. within hours whoever manages that page called me and said bring it in and they will fix it and even pay the $250 deductible of my extended warranty! lol. the power of social media! needless to say, since they delivered and made it right, i deleted my comment.

Some call that "solvent pop" which is caused from the job being poorly prepped causing the paint to off-gas. Lack of time to prep, dirty, hot, and humid surface conditions is usually the cause.
