My First Truck

I recently just bought a 97' F-250 HD 5.8l. I love the truck I just feel like it needs something. Any suggestions? I already repaired the rust on the box.

hi ... not sure what you are asking, but if it doesn't already have a trailer hitch, that would certainly be a good thing to add. maybe paint the wheels ?

Sorry for making such a broad statement, but to be honest I don't even know what I'm asking. Thank you for the suggestion

you gotta ask yourself what your main use for the beast is then go from there

show shine truck
just a run around truck or long hauler
a heavy hauler
offroader

and you can upgrade one thing at a time as you build it and put your own ideas/things you like into depending on your use

nice touch to those trucks is 33x12.50

and if you didnt get the plow nor intend on using it as a plow truck ditch the plow gear

all my trucks ive always done something different to stand them out even if its little things i have a habit of buy multi coloured trusty rusty frankenfords so i spray bomb them but i do a lot of off road use and abuse so $100 worthy of spray then its a 5 buck touch up every 6 months

go for a real paint job if your not seeing alotta off road use haha

hope this helps let us know your main use and im sure you will get more suggestions and ill be back to put in another 2 cents worth

Thanks for the suggestions. I plan to use the truck for everything u guess. (Towing, plowing, and transport) I also would like the truck to be somewhat of a showpiece. I'm thinking about getting an American flag painted on the hood. Would that look stupid?

well i guess the american flag is cool ive seen nice flags and bad flags tho but im a canadian boy so you cant listen to me on that ha ha but i did paint up an 1980 f150 with olive drab and white stars on the doors i had more then one person follow me around till i stopped just so they could ask me where the hell i got a U.S military f-150 i guess i fell in love with the olive drab look since that truck im now on my forth ford i re-painted olive

vinyl will be way cheaper then air brush an option to look at just a pain to put the bigger ones on

look around for a set of used stock chrome/aluminium rims you got a lot of chrome on your truck the old steels dont make the wheel wells pop and i would put on 33 in. a/t's they are pretty much the same height as you 235/85's just get bit more width tread on the ground i wouldnt go any bigger then 35 in. with that motor

and i do want to add that you do got a pretty nice rig i like it post your upgrades im interested on how you make out with it
