Looking For Feed Back on 2001 F350's
I am going to be buying a business in the next few months, and a large truck will be required for pulling a trailer. The current owners who are of retirement age will be selling their 2001 F350 and have offered to sell it to me for $9,500.
It has 275000 miles and a new transmission about 30k ago. The working miles on this truck come from hauling an enclosed trailer with small trees in it, and a box camper. The majority of my usage for this truck will be the occasional hauling of the enclosed trailer with trees otherwise from home to the shop and back with the occasional trip to the fleet and farm.
So my question for you all is. How much more do you think this truck has in her at 275k with that new transmission? I am fine with putting $$ into it here and there, but I don't want to buy it and then have to drop a new engine in it 2 months down the road. Or is this truck a jem and it would be worth the $9.5k and plan on putting in a new engine in it or having it over hauled? Body is in good shape.
Any feed back is appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Depends on the basic shape of the vehicle. If its a MN vehicle, as I'm assuming by your name, it may not be the best deal out there due to rust. If the vehicle is in good shape though it could be a decent deal. I suggest you hop over to the 7.3 forum as you'll get more information there. Also, whereabouts in MN are you from? Maybe someone with some 7.3 knowledge could help you look at the truck.
