I beamean dropping
My dad is into Model A's where I am into the late models. Currently were building a jig that will allow us to make our own drop beams for Model A's.
The jig will allow us to drop the beams in 2 different ways. One is the drop with stock width, and the other is shortening the beam as needed.
Well the jig I designed after watching a ton of videos is flexible, and with new plates can be configured for Ford I beams. So in a few months I maybe looking for a F250 to be my guinea pig.
From everything I ever read, and have seen. Is that one can heat, and stretch I-beams for about a 4 inch drop. There is/was a guy in the bay area who would give you a 4 inch drop for about $600. He only did F100 beams.
So after they are stretched should the beams be filled to give back extra metal on the beams so they are stronger. Thus less likely to bend when pot holes appear. Or as the others I have seen not really nessacary.
