There's a white 1952 Buick ragtop parked in front of the 1956 Dodge station wagon. You can tell it's a '52 by the chrome fin above the taillight.

Another good photo thread on the H.A.M.B. that is fun to browse (lots of "girls with car" photos): History - As They Were... | The H.A.M.B.
And if you're into pre WWII photos there's this: History - Photos taken before WW2 - history in black and white | The H.A.M.B.
Then for those remembering the vintage drag strip scene there's this: History - Drag cars in motion.......picture thread. | The H.A.M.B.

and for the heck of it here's my favorite steam engine.

This is actually my Dads Texaco back in the late 50's I can remember running around the bays falling on my butt because they used to wash the floor down with solvent and water and so did I later on in years. I have more pictures but have to find them. I remember the jeep but not the 53 wrecker.

What a neat picture. It seems almost every service station in the 50's and 60's had an old Jeep.

It looks like a '35-'36 REA truck in the upper LH corner. Also nice '41 business coupe in the lineup. Cool Photos!!

The car just past the red Dodge stake bed is either a Chrysler or Desoto Airflow.

The green car beyond the 1941 Ford Coupe is a 1935 or 1936 Packard 120.

Albuquerque used to have a significant roundhouse operation, just down from where that picture of the Chief is. Check out this pic from the '50s

My younger brother is restoring a 41 Ford business coupe. It was mine a long time ago. Dad bought it used in 1950. Been in the family a long time. Patrick

Wow, is that a giant power hammer? My uncle Pete had a power hammer in his blacksmith shop but it was a bunch smaller that this one. Patrick

I like that "clamp-on" trailer hitch on the Buick...I haven't seen one of those in many years. Almost too hard to believe that there was a time that cars were constructed in such a manner as to allow a hitch to be mounted to a bumper. Good stuff, thanks for the link...
Ok, the Buick convertible being gassed looks like a picture by a famous photographer that worked for Norfolk and Western Railroad. His name was maybe O. Winston Link or close to that. He staged famous night scenes with Norfolk and Western Steam engines at night and used a whole lot of flash bulbs. I remember one famous one with a couple in a convertible watching a movie at a drive in theater with a large steam engine in the picture. Patrick
