Excellent! I'm also very happy to provide beer-- er, "refreshments"-- and pizza if anyone is in my area of town that'd be willing to come over and look over my shoulder/act as a 2nd set of eyes to help me learn. I wouldn't want anyone to have to drive too far out of their way.
I'll also check out the dinner thread too - thanks for the invite.

Here's a pic where I circled where the fuel is "overflowing" -- mostly on the left side...
Also, I watched a "how to tune an Edelbrock" youtube (done by Edelbrock), and noticed they said you should adjust the (is it called a "choke plate"?) using something like a credit card, to where it's mostly closed in the resting position; I see that mine looks like it's a lot more open. Does that need to be fixed too?

Time to get out the door. I'm off for North Raleigh to hit the spice shop that I get my dry rubs. I'm smoking a Pork Shoulder tomorrow, and want some more brine and rub.
Y'all behave

If i remember correctly, that particular carb has floats on the left and right side of the venturis and chambers. At the front of the carb, bottom left on the mounting flange, could you check to see if there are some numbers there?
I believe those two circles covered in red are where the metering rods sit. Could definately be caused by a stuck float.
Also how many turns out are the idle mixture screws? yours has two.

Great diagram - super helpful.
Numbers are "1406 8127"
When you ask, "how many turns out are the idle screws", does that mean I would count the number of complete turns it takes to get each one all the way in to where it stops? (and I would just remember to turn it out the same number of turns to bring it back out to where it was)
