I guess I know I'm on the right track then...
I'm thinking about getting one just to add a layer of security and "dry" for my cargo...
The only time I need the capacity of the dually is when hitched up to my fifth wheel - which probably won't happen for the next couple of years..

I can see some possible applications where it would make sense. It would be cheaper for Randy to put a cap on his truck than trade for a smaller one, only to trade again when he needs to move the Fortress.

I imagine if you were hauling something like concrete that was heavy and needed to stay dry it would also make sense.

You just don't see it very often, which is why it surprised me. Seems like most folks purchase a dually to use an in-bed hitch.

Some day we will have a new camper and then the topper could go away but that won't be any time soon.

Everyone must be busy today. I am at work because one of the other guys is gone but I am still restless for some reason.

Good afternoon Jay!

Was a busy day for me until I got down to the hospital around 1:30. Took the kids to daycare, picked up my Kia, drove it home, and rode the bike to St. Paul. A little more lively down here than we like, Hannah is showing some concerning symptoms. She can't move her left side, and she's showing signs of aspiration, so she needs a swallow study. Down in MRI now.

Howdy Jay! Been a very busy day for me. One more service call to go and then I am done. Then it is home to get the camper ready to go for this weekend. Always something!

We don't really camp until Miltona toward the end of August.

That's a bummer Jay! We only have one weekend this month when we are not camping.

A bit envious of you guys, we really wanted a camper this year. Hannah kind of screwed that up by needing the power wheelchair, so we had to upgrade the van instead. Definitely something we're thinking about for next year though. It works out anyway, we wouldn't have had much time to one this year with everything going on.

Shame the Transit isn't rated to tow very much. I'd have forked over the money for an EB model if they were, but none of the passenger models are rated for more than 5,000 lbs or so. Not sure which direction we'd take...a toy hauler with a ramp would work great for her chair, which was weighed at 340 lbs on Monday when she checked in. Can't exactly lift that thing in the back of the truck.

I am jealous Troy. Seems like we have a lot of stuff on weekends again this summer but I also need to take some weekend time and do stuff on the house. Paint, siding, retaining walls, patio, deck...the list never ends.

Get better Mike.
