July'n to me BS thread

Thanks Guys.. I am still learning the site and look forward to maybe one of the GTG. I think Springfield has a big swap meet coming up in the near future. I always like going there. I go to Springfield to Buddys Salvage yard quite a bit so do some getting around.
I might be interested in the 77 if I don't find what I am looking for. I missed out on a Super cab short bed recently. Current plans now is to find a truck to restore and get back into Fords again. I plan on retiring in 10 years and want to have a truck to pull a vintage 70s travel trailer. I want both restored and some modern updates for practicality. It usually takes me 2 plus years to get a truck restored to where I want it to be and build it myself to the way I may have bought it from the factory.
As any gear head knows, usually one truck is not enough and can see me eventually having two different trucks for different purposes. I am a purist at heart but I like to take a truck with a little ugly to it that I am not going to bring the value down on and getting them looking good and adding creature comfort and features.

Terry, yes it the 18-20 Aug. I have 2 spots and my buddy has 2 next to me. Look for the FTE banner and a big flat bed trailer with some stuff on it. lol
We are in the "white rail pipe" section, behind the Wells arena. Stop on by for a free cold water out of the FTE members only cooler. g
I will also offer parts storage while you are still shopping and I'll have a rubber tire dolly to borrow for the big stuff. lol
Here is a pic from the last swap meet a few of us meet up at.

Afternoon all. I was planning on getting some things done outside today, but Mother Nature rained on that parade early on. I did manage to get the battery out of the boy's car and got him a new one. Hopefully I'll get it in when things dry out, if not he's on his own. He's had it in and out a couple of times putting it on the charger so he'll be OK getting in.

Hello whiskey runner... That looks to be a solid looking truck. I have fixed up worse then that. I don't mind some rust as the floor boards and rear wheel wells is to be expected. I would be interested. I have Wednesdays-Thursdays off and would like to look at it if possible. I would prefer a Supercab myself. I missed out on a Supercab short bed and looked to be a one owner. Still kicking myself in the rear for missing it.
Hello John T supercab... Maybe we can get some more members will join up here. I will be the new guy for a while. Seems like younger generations just buy their trucks instead of making one anymore.
Hello 77&70F250.. Thanks for letting me know the dates. I will put in for one of those days off. I searched your statistics looking to see if there was a thread on what parts you sell. I found a thread where you showed the head liner out on a truck but no parts thread. The Joplin yards don't have much and I rather deal with Springfield. I will eventually buy a parts trucks and strip it down well to have my own stash of parts but some things you still wind up having to find.
I was supposed to look at a truck. It was a father and son project and from what I have been told it would of been a good deal. I understand that they may have gotten in over their head and was wanting to sell it but now that there is a possibility of it selling, I wonder if they got cold feet and may have changed their minds.
I have found several trucks sitting in my area, some over priced, rust buckets, or would not be much left of the original truck when I got done to make it worth buying. I will eventually find one. Some I still have not checked on either.

Terry I sale all kinds of 73-79 Ford truck parts, all used but very reusuable. I have sold lots of part to lots of FTE Missouri members and al over the US and overseas. I have 2 parts broncos and 2 parts trucks and a whole lot more.
Trading Feedback - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
I also have a 79 F250 SC LB (with rust on the SC lower part), but it has twin Dana 60's. Just pulled the 460 out of it, it still has the C-6 and NP-205....it is becoming a parts truck slowly but surely.
