One would think someone hauling an expensive looking fiberglass extension ladder would have enough sense to secure it. Unfortunately, someone did not and dropped it smack in the middle of the interstate. A couple of vehicles managed to straddle it, but a car snagged it trying to straddle it, spun it sideways, and promptly ran over it. It disappeared in a cloud of fiberglass shards and debris.

After viewing this in my review mirror, I fell back and behind the car that hit it. When they pulled over, I pulled in front of them to see if everyone was OK. The passengers were shaken up, but otherwise OK. I did a quick scan underneath the car and helped pull the remains of the ladder out from under it. The underbelly was in better shape than I expected and nothing appeared to be leaking. I advised them to have their tires and front suspension inspected as soon as possible, but not to delay if it starts vibrating or handling poorly.

Well, other than the new dog emptying the kitchen cupboards while everyone was out a couple of hours this morning, that's about all the excitement here.

New starter and new starter wire is on. Amp gauge still falls to D when the key is in the 1st position. But the truck turns over like a champ, can't get it to start though, sounds like a fuel carb issues now.

I am going to bottle prime the carb and go from there. If it catches fire... I am going to go get a bag of marshmallows. lol

Hello guys..I am new to the forum but not new to wrenching and doing body work. Monday I am meeting a guy to possibly buy a 79 standard cab long bed. I have been wanting to get back into a Ford truck for awhile and as soon as I find one that is what I am looking for I will get it.

I live in Anderson, just south of Joplin. I have a shop and a descent amount of tools and hoping to find some fellow Ford guys in my area and maybe turn some wrenches and knock out a few dings. I actually prefer to do body work but doing motor work is a nice change.

Hi Terry. It's nice to meet you.
One of my tenants has a 77 long bed 2 wheel drive has 460 in it I don't know much more about it, but he wants 1500.00 for it. Don't know if that's a good price or not.

Hello Terry and welcome to the FTE Missouri chapter, you have at least one guy in that area. I get over by Sarcoxie and Pierce City every so often.

Good luck on getting the "new" ride.

We bought that 2013!

We bought that 2013 that I've been talking about.
It's pretty sweet, Super Crew, 5.0, 4x4, power slider, and a few other options that I didn't have on the 2011. And that Kodiak Brown Metallic is SWEET!
It goes in next week for a complete detail. And I want to get those black plastic running boards off of there, and get some Chrome, or something that match's the wheels. Some gold pin stripe, vent shades, and my Flowmaster series 70 exhaust, and I'll be set.
So.... Here's Grizzly!

Thanks Rich, it was like going through 3 weeks of Hazing, to get here, but we got here. And, we came out doing pretty well. We dropped our payments, have enough cash left over to put new tires on Shari's 08 Escape, and do the few things I want to do to the truck

Unk Bob
