Another defector from the 6.0L diesel to 2016 6.2L
I have been driving Ford diesel pickups since 1994. My latest was a 2005 6.0L F250 Crewcab 4x4 w/8' bed which I bought new. This truck has 96000 miles on it and it has been in the shop for engine related issues a total of 60 days since I have owned it. The cab has been off 4 times and the engine has been out of it 3 times. Now, at 96K miles the oil cooler repair was my next potential problem.
Enough is enough. I traded the 6.0L in on a 2016 6.2L gasser and I am not looking back. This 6.2L truck is great and I thank everyone here for all of the information posted here which helped me make this decision. Also, thanks to those who responded to my questions about the 6.2L.

Did I mention the 6.0L maintenance and costs?
Each oil change = 15 quarts of oil + $25 oil filter ( oil changes cost me about $75)
Every 15K miles = $45 for the fuel filter set
Also, every 1500 miles, gotta crawl under the truck and drain the fuel/water separator. There is no easy way to do this without taking a diesel shower.
How about fuel? Sometimes diesel is cheaper and sometimes it isn't. But in all cases, the lubricity additive must be added every time fuel is added to the tank. If I remember correctly, 80 oz was $18 and that treated 250 gallons of fuel if I used the minimum amount. There was nothing as fun as fueling up during a trip and then digging out the bottle of additive, measuring it, and adding it to the tank.
You guys sold me on the 6.2L. I appreciate the help.

I sometimes miss my 6.0. It was studded and tuned and ran like a sumbitch! I don't miss the maintenance costs though. The 6.2 is very reliable, plenty of power and relatively cheap to operate.
