2015+ TPMS compatible on 09-14 trucks?

Does anyone have experience mounting 2015+ wheels and tires? Will the TPMS communicate, reset, relearn etc to work properly without dismounting the tires and swapping them to the older model?

It depends on the year. My dad bought some 2015 take offs (cheaper than buying new tires) and the TPMS do not work on his 2012. I *think* the '13s and '14s are compatible. Ford switched the frequencies or something right in that time frame.

I believe that +15 TPMS are not compatible with '14 and earlier MY trucks. Ford switched to individual tire pressure readings in the cluster for 2015.

So the TPMS must be swapped to the older style? Seems like a lot of work.
