Nope, I have shamed a few fast LBZ's in my time. You do have the 12 sec club but I just smile thinking of all the money they dumped into their truck for fame.

In a nut shell you want to out do an LBZ but have no idea what modifications are done to the truck but he gets by you on top end. Eric's Extreme tune should not be ran with the Tow/Haul button engaged (for all purposes it is probably disabled in the tune) and you are milking your injectors..... in easy terms, you ran out of fuel.

Forget any FICM tuning, injectors, filters and spray wax, buy yourself a fuel pressure gauge. Fuel first, then modifications. And another thing, nobody can tune an engine to its full potential unless they are sitting in the passenger seat with a laptop. Email tunes are generic. I won't even address the key a ma thingy.....

If you have deep pockets I know a Canadian that can set you up with a twin turbo.
Maybe I'm not understanding properly, but...I don't get why over 90mph is "top end". I consider top end the upper end of the rev range. So from my perspective he is going through top end in each gear, and is staying with his buddy until 85-90mph at which point his buddy pulls ahead significantly. Would fuel not be a problem in lower gears but become a problem in the upper gears? At first I thought gearing, but the Allison trans has almost the same ratios. But OP hasn't mentioned what diff ratio is in either truck. So...I dunno, just kind of talking to myself.

Tire speed rating dictates the original manufacturer setting of the speed limit on any vehicle. Custom programming removes the limit. I milked my injectors down to zero fuel pressure in the 1/4 mile, hence no top end speed. New pump, fuel pressure, top end speed increased. Pretty simple.

So what you're saying is that when you start out fuel pressure is acceptable but as you're moving at full throttle pressure is dropping because the pump can't keep up. Then in the time it takes to get up to speed (90mph in this case) the fuel pressure has dropped enough that a low power situation occurs. Yes?

That seems to make sense to me. I have already bought a FICM tuner and a s&b intake. For the fuel system, should I be looking at something like an airdog system? I am willing to spend about 3k right now, maybe more later..

This can get addicting...

You need fuel but you need to know what pressure you are seeing.

So yesterday I got the new intake and the php tuner. The intake largely seems to do nothing as far as feel. But it must be delivering cooler air, just by design. I really can't tell without any technical data though.

The FICM programming has made a noticeable difference in throttle response. I also tried something with my sct that has really helped turbo spool. I set my running idle rpm from the stock 625 rpms to 725 rpms. It keeps the truck above 700 rpms at all times and makes almost instant boost. Whether Im sitting at a light or coasting down an exit ramp, as soon as I hit the pedal I have boost.

Still researching options for fuel delivery and monitoring.

I'm running an AirDog II pump at 75psi, truck pulls like a freight train. No gauge to tell you at what pressure, but I don't run out of steam at the top end, seems I run out of gear and rpm.

Check temps for IAT to see improvement?
