Evergreen RV Shuttered

Anyone in the market for a toyhauler or any RV for that matter... Evergreen RV who manufacturers many lines of TT's, 5vers, and haulers closed out of the blue last week. Imagine, no parts or warranty coverage on brand new RV's? Yikes! I feel for anyone who purchased one of their products recently...

I looked at and strongly considered a Tesla. Glad I didn't...

We did too Dave. I'm heading to the XLR plan next week and will see if the guys have any further insight into what happened there...

sounds to me like someone might have been diverting some funds for another purpose.

Industry has been pretty stable lately.

The industry is booming Scott. I did make an initial inquiry with a buddy of mine in the know. He said they were running flat (not profitable) and their main big time investor had enough and pulled out two months ago. They were dead men walking at that point...

They didn't have the dealer network they needed to move enough units, or the advertising to grab hold. Very nice units though. Should be cheaper to buy, should you still want one.

They were weak in the dealer network when I shopped but as of late started to do really well in that regard Dave. Heck, RV Wholesalers pickup the Tesla line. That's saying something. I think it was mismanagement keeping profits down that did them in. Grand Design jumped out there in the same fashion and is doing well. Something was amiss with Evergreen's management.

I'm sure that didn't help either. People wanted them, so had it been done right, they'd be here. We have one dealer for them around here, but they rarely stocked them as they claimed they weren't easy to deal with. They have one now, It's already marked way down...

I saw one in a campground and was impressed with the quality of it, but couldn't even find one for sale. Glad I didn't buy one.

Quality control was iffy. Saw a couple that were disasters, but not really unusual there. RV manufacturers go in and out of business all the time. They may have been hoping for a buy-out that never came, if dealership network was small. Lots of possibilities.

We were ready to sign the deal on a Tesla last year and something told me to go with Heartland Cyclone instead. Glad we went with the Cyclone but now....well, we are in the market to downsize. Anyone in the market for an '08 F-450 and a 2015 Heartland Cyclone 3800HD?

I have a 2015 Evergreen Amped 32GS that I purchased in 2014. Besides having the Toyhauler in for cosmetic fixes and a kinked water line only months after purchasing I haven't had any issues whatsoever. I dry camp a lot so I added two 6-Volt batteries and love every bit of my trailer. For being a bumper pull and 13.5 ft tall it tows amazingly well (with my dually that is). My warranty ran out last month so I purchased the 5 year Good Sam ESP for $2000 for security. I would say if you can find this toyhauler for under $32K and can get a Good Sam warranty then it would be a hell of a deal.

That's interesting as their website is up and no mention of them going out of business but there are many other web articles that confirm that they are 'gone'. Lack of money was the cited reason. Poor management probably would be a better term in a booming business even if a key investor pulled out.
