How To Keep Bugs Off Truck

I drive on the highway everyday. After about 4 or 5 days my front bumper, grill, fog lights, & headlights are caked with dead bugs sticking. What is the best way to keep them from sticking to the front of my truck? I saw some different sprays and all that but that worries me too because if the spray does work well then that means I will have more on my radiator and may cause problems there too. Has anyone come up with a good way to prevent this?

You're driving a 9,000 lb brick some bugs are going to have to die.

Keep the garden hose ready with a high pressure nozzle. Hit it everytime you get in, have her washed 3 times per week and wax very 30 days.... Sounds like someone we all know....ME!

Just put a sign on the front of your truck that bans bugs from sticking.

Don't drive it?
Wrap it in bubble wrap?

...but seriously, I don't know of anything that will keep them from 'sticking' other than a ***** ton of wax, but even then, if it's hot out and they 'bake', it is what it is.

I've seen those window-screen looking things people used to put on their rigs, but IMO those look like hell.

Keep the paint clean(clayed/polished/waxed) and wash often.

I have had great success with Collinite 845 as a wax, really holds up against bugs pretty damn well.

You can also get a clear bra for the front end...

Yeah, that is what I was afraid you were going to say... Sucks, hoping there was something out there that I over looked.

Yeah, this is the norm for me now. Was trying to find another alternative.

Well, that is not working too well for Chicago as they have a ban on guns and yet they almost lead the country in gun deaths... So, I'm going to try and find another way... LOL!! Thanks for the suggestion.

I have to wash it probably every other day to keep it from caking up so much. I will have to post a pic to show just how many bugs I kill on the E-way...

Agreed those screens are not flattering at all!

No solution for the bugs on the paint and bumper, but I do have one for the A/C condenser and radiator. I built a screen that goes behind the grille and protects the condenser fins from bugs, rocks etc. I'll have to find some pics to post.

From what I have read apparently you can wipe WD40 on those areas and it will help. For getting them off I use dryer sheets. Wet the truck down and let it sit for a couple minutes. Then wet down the dryer sheets and scrub the bugs off. From my experience you can scrub hard on the paint but don't scrub hard on the chrome it will scratch. They come off pretty easy using that method.

I wouldn't do it but I've heard spaying Pam on the front keeps them from sticking. If your paint is nice I would put the 3M clear bra.
