Ok Byron ,I'm gonna take you up on that right now. I'm up early to work on the beast now....... little stuff. I've got 2 rubber fuel lines leaking. Right in front, and on top of the bowl. Both have a brass fitting. Not sure where the other end leads to in the valley, or where to get 'em. Does the part have a specific name? Thanks man.

hey fordman, tried posting a pic but I'm a computer spaz. Ok, I had to pull the engine cover to get a better look. They both go to the FPR. One routes past the GPR and to a 90 deg Fitting on front of FPR. The other comes off the side of FPR. The hose is just below the other one

That sounds like each of your fuel lines and they each go to each head. You can get them from Riff Raff diesel. I got a set for 100 bucks I think and I keep them as spares in my toolbox.

Are the hoses themselves leaking or the fittings?

Its the hoses Byron, they're rotted to hell. I just did a get me by repair. I spliced in a piece of fuel hose with nipples and hose clamps, just so I can get to work. Can I get these from Ford ? What has to come out to reach the other end? Thanks.

Oh yeah, what is the parts name or number?

Yeah your best bet on price is Riff Raff. I believe the bracket on the front of the engine that holds vac pump and accessories has to come off. It's not a hard job, just time consuming. I have not had to do mine just yet. Someone else will come in that has done it.

I have replaced them with out removing the bracket but it is a huge pain.

Ok Thanks........... huge pain huh? Can you explain some of the snags? The passenger side looks easier than the driver side. What tools etc....

I feel your discouragement I promise. IMO new trucks just aren't as good as these ol dinosaurs.
Exactly! Not too many computers on these old trucks and face it, they look the best
