RE-BOLTING CAB ONTO CHASSIS

It has been several years since I removed the cab on my 55 F350 to begin it's restoration. Now the cab is about to be ready to re-bolt to the chassis and I can't remember how it was bolted on. I purchased new bolts and rubber grommets for the front and rear mounts.

In the next week or so I'll be trailering the chassis over to the painter's to lift the cab onto the chassis and bolting it on - I'm pretty stoked!!! But I'm having a senior moment and can't seem to find anything in the manual or online specifically how to reinstall the cab.

You guys have always come through before. Thanks

This should help. If you have more questions on it, just ask.

Glad I could help.
I got that from this book on cd:
1948-56 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog CD - HiPo Parts Garage

It is only $21.50 and well worth it. It has helped me more times than I can count.

I bet you are stoked! I bought the CD but seaching for details can be daunting, since there are so many pages. I'll have to keep this post handy as I plan to do this down the road. Good luck with the remount and what ever you do, don't scratch it! Ha Ha

Loading Bertha on my car trailer I did scratch and dent the front apron with the trailer ramps But it was on the bottom and it'll be pretty much covered by a bumper. We plan on having 5 guys to lift the cab onto the flatbed, then a small cart to roll the cab along the bed, and then we'll lift the cab being very careful to thread it over the steering wheel column and over the pedals (I'm taking the gear shift and parking brake off. Bertha is an F350 Flatbed.

mgerdau, that is looking beautiful!

Dave, what I do is always start with the pictures and find the category in the table of contents and start with that section. I display the pdf in full page and click through the pages really fast until I come across something that looks about what I'm looking for. It sucks that you can't search the document, but after a while you start figuring out where most stuff is.
