2006 F-350 Intigrated TBC problem

I have a 2006 F-350 Lariat that has a integrated trailer brake control. My issue is that my original TBC burnt out and I received a TBC Fault followed by Trailer Disconnected on my dash display, even though my 5th wheel was hooked up and the plug was securely attached. It would even give me that error when the 5th wheel was Not connected. So, I purchased a OEM TBC from a seller on eBay. I plugged it in and I no longer get a fault code on my display and when I hook up my 5th wheel it shows it is connected (the Green trailer on the TBC) I tested the brake wire (Blue) on the 5th wheel when my wife stepped on the brake pedal, I put my volt meter on the 5th wheel's brake wire and I only get Miliamps of power. Is there a way I can test the TBC outside of the truck to find out if that is the problem? Thanks

You will not get brake power without a trailer attached. The truck knows there is nothing there and does not power the circuit.

OK but I have tested the brake (Blue) wire on the 5th wheel with the truck attached to it and on the 5th wheel side if I hit the brake pedal I just get miliamps and if I hit the slide I get 5VDC.

Sorry, I had to re-read your first post.

Sitting still will only provide a small increase. You should be looking for volts too, not amps. The integrated TBC is "smart" and knows vehicle speed and other factors that it will use to use output up to your max setting. Parked at 0, it will not put out power. Slide bar will however. Slide bar should show close to 12 volts if you have controller set to maximum.

That makes sense. Thank you for your help. It sounds like it is working properly.

You bet! Crank it up, slide it over and see if it holds you stopped. You'll know then for sure.
