I believe you need to grab 2wd motor mounts for that engine to fit. Shorty headers would probably make things easier from a clearance approach.

Ok ya I thought i had remembered seeing that some were 78 f150 2wd mounts. I was wondering if 79 small block F150 4wd headers would work. If that exists but I assume the frame must be different eh. Lol im to used to chevy trucks were everything is just universal.

Concur with Kemicalburns...as long as you have the 351M/400 frame stands, you can use either 79 and older 2wd 302/351w mounts or 80-96 2wd/4wd motor mounts. 5.0 Mustang unequal length shorties work well, are everywhere and affordable.

When I installed a HO 351w out of an 85 Bronco in a 79 F150, used replacement mounts for the bronco and stock headers off a 95 Cobra. If I recall correctly, the passenger side collector was close to the frame, but still had plenty of clearance for 2.25" pipes to pass by.

My next project is intalling a 96 MAF 5.8 and ZF 5speed into my 79 Bronco, so I'm interested in seeing how yours turns out!

Ri

Ok cool so I guess the 94 mounts it came with should work eh. It would be great to get 5.0 mustang headers aswell cause they will have bungs for o2 sensor giving the future option for EFI. the old late 80s mustangs came with headers?

Yes, the 94 F-series motor mounts will work.

86-95 mustangs had stock tubular manifolds (headers). Design changed slightly from 86/93 to 94/95 so they are not direct replacements of each other. The O2 sensor bungs are in the H-pipe (or head pipe leading to the cats). You can find very affordable aftermarket and used headers for 86-93 Mustangs on Ebay. I used the 95 headers because that is what I had on hand.
