Need Stake Bed advice for '49 F1
#16
On the one that I did for a client I bottomed them out. After finish I waxed the bottom of each stake on top of the UV Varnish. He doesn't leave his truck out in the rain and only drives it on nice days.
If the stakes don't bottom out then something has to sit on the bed rails. I would think that if that were done then they would vibrate and wear the paint off.

Well to stay with the question I took pics for you,and that thing about of army truck with half door hinges; I looked at that and it must have been some seat from a ww2 military vehicle that was grafted on to the original f-1seat...hoping it was a GMC duce course I just got one of those and it's seat is in disarray. Well hope this helps stake bead pocket has a half bottom! Oh and before I forget 1948 only F-0 stake bed is a new question? Is this what I have, with long running boards? Oh and how is the wood held to the frame, im lacking any evidence of bolt or screw holes in the wood
