Tow mirror uprade, but not everything works.

I have a 2009 F-150 STX and I just recently installed a set of tow mirrors that I bought on ebay. These tow mirrors have power mirrors, turn signals, heat, and puddle lamps. My original mirrors only had power. I read on a few forums that installing mirrors with all the options on 2009 and up STX models should just be plug and play. Well so far all that's working is the power mirrors and the turn signals. The puddle lamps aren't working and I'm not 100% sure if the heat is working as it is no longer winter here in NW Ohio. I've seen a few forums on this topic, but most applied to 2004-2008 models. Would really like to make these mirrors fully functional. Any help is appreciated.

I know puddle lamps are not PNP on XLTs. At least all of the installs I have read.

Here's the deal. These mirrors are PNP, but by doing so only the options that your original mirrors had will work. The additional options that the replacement mirrors have won't or may not work. I added the may not stipulation for reasons such as the signal option it your replacement mirrors do work when you said that your original mirrors had power only, which told me that they didn't have the signals in them. So if your original mirrors didn't have heat (then your replacement mirrors that do have heat) that function won't work. So in order to get that function to work will require further research and work to the truck. The same with the puddle lamps and if you opted to get the power folding mirrors, that too will require additional work. So to sum it all up. There may not be anything wrong with the new mirrors. And what you are experiencing is totally normal.
