2012 4x4 front wheel bearings replacement

Are just the bearings serviceable/replaceable or is the only option to get entire wheel hub assembly?

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for reassuring what I thought. Wonder what was wrong with serviceable bearings? Must not have made enough money on them I suppose.

Cool video but it was on the hub not the wheel bearings though. Unless I missed something. I'm referring to the wheel bearings in the wheel hub assembly.

I have an 08 250 and providing your front wheel bearings are similar to mine...you can remove the abs sensor and put grease in through that hole for the bearings.....This will help extend their life.

Good video but how did he pull it? That was the out side wonder about the inside bearing too? I have a shop press so install would be a snap. Guess I need to look into part numbers.

They've been unit bearings for quite some time now. The only one making a fortune off of these is the company who sells a serviceable bearing conversion:

Ford Truck Free-Spin? Kits

Motorcraft doesn't sell many of these, the aftermarket is who makes money selling replacements. Don't think that had anything to do with the design choice.

Your right for that cost I can replace the stock wheel hub assembly a few times. I go through water on a regular basis because I have to. They have held up great so far. Guess because the truck isn't sitting still but it is something that worries me.

I grease mine through the abs hole as well. I have also replaced the small bearing on the inside of the unit bearing that the axle runs on.

Do you use a zerk fitting or just force grease into the hole?
