I got a very good deal on a set of heated power towing mirrors with puddle lamps and turn signal off of a 13 f150. I was informed that the wiring is only suitable for an 07-14 f150 and that the wiring is the only difference on my 06. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on this small project? I heard something about the pins on the plug possibly? Thanks

 

good question. and the towing mirrors are also power folding........and power extend.....which is a 2nd switch as well.

 

Mine are manual fold and extend, so I should not need another switch, but I'm going to dive into it in the next couple of days to see what I can find if nobody has an answer

 

I never did figure out the wiring change required on my 06, so ended up simply plugging them in. Everything worked as far as I could tell, including the turn signals. The only difference was the defrost button indicator light on the dash flashed whenever a turn signal was active. Since it is such an unobtrusive light to begin with I simply lived with it until I traded the truck in.
Though I wasn't able to identify which wires went to what function, I suspect the defroster circuit in the mirror was reversed.
