Replacing Just The Running Boards - Not The Brackets
My 2001 Extended Cab has black plastic/vinyl running boards (OEM I think) that are rusting underneath the plastic. The brackets and rockers seem fine. I want to replace just the top boards and not the brackets.
Has anyone ever done this? Where did you find the parts? What years might be compatible with 2001 (there's a set of 2006 OEM running boards available on Kijiji (like Craiglist) that the fella is selling for $280 for the pair).
Some background information. I sometimes transport seniors and kids so I want a full platform i.e. no tubing with just a couple of step areas. I like a full, wide i.e 7" running board that acts to stop mud, slush etc. I do not want chrome (just a personal preference).
Any help/ideas appreciated. ~ BugJr ~
