I'm gonna be doing an 05 axle swap soon too! Dually though. I'd just look up the specs on factor super duty wheel's and compare it with the ones you want to figure out how much more they will stick out.
Was gonna get the other wheels but got a steel on these so I'm gonna run them got to get couple more bolts and some welding gas and I'm starting on it tomorrow guy I know gonna let me use his 2 post car rack so plan on starting tomorrow afternoon
Well got front axle in besides brake lines and track bar mount and drilling out the pitman arm and trans cross member has to changed do to the fact that the radius arm mounts are in the way
All you guys doing the '05 axle swaps have me thinking. I really don't want to swap my axle, because I already have a Dana 80 dually axle from an '01 E450. I has the same 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern as the OBS trucks, and disc brakes. So, what you and Andrew have me thinking is, coil spring and three link my D60, and do the D80 rear, that way I don't have to worry about wheels.
probably in your case i wouldnt mess with the newer axle but i like the fact of the bigger brakes in the front that require 17 in or bigger wheels but im close
to done on the front brake lines and it should be done
then swap the rear
