puzzling chime in my 08 f250

i was hoping some one might be able to shed some light on a chime i have randomly in my sd. it is an 08 f250 xl with a 5.4. randomly my truck chime at me, hence why i havent been able to capture it on video. it will chime twice. the sound is a subtle bong, bong. it is never predictable and never affects anything, but is annoying and i am curious as to why it does it.

Do any lights come on with it? Is it possible that's it's not a chime but something moving causing the noise

No lights come on. Nope it is definitely a chime of sorts. I know my description of it and the lack of info certainly doesn't help but it's all I've got lol. It has done it since I bought the truck.

The only light that is on is my tums light because I can't fill up my tires to factory specs. But I don't think that is the cause for the chime

A low tire pressure alert should present both a visual and audio warning.

I understand that, but it did used to do the same chime without the tpms light when the other tires were on it. I wish I could get the sensors recalibrated for my new tires. Everyone I have talked to say it can't be done. If I could too I would just yank out the system because I check my ture pressure at least once a week

The calibration instructions are in the owners manual. I adjusted the pressure settings for the sensors

If the TPMS light is already on and another tire's pressure crosses the threshold the system will chime again.

It'll chime with low fuel, open door, low tire pressure, limp mode... I'd expect it to chime with, but cannot verify, low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, and extreme low voltage from the alternator.

Does the dome light come on when it chimes? Is one of your doors loose and/or have a bad ajar switch?

My dome light does not work for some reason or another. It's got to be a wiring issue because I have replaced the bulbs and checked all fusible links. So honestly I don't know lol.

I don't have an owners manual for the truck and tried ordering one from ford like 4 months ago and they said it's back ordered. And honestly I have forgotten until now to look elsewhere for one lol.

If anyone could post a link or anything on resetting the tpms that would be awesome! Cause that light on the dash is annoying lol. And my tires hold a max of 65 psi I think. They are Toyota open country Mt 35 12.50s.

The link doesn't work it just brings me to an error page stating I don't have permission to access it.

Here you go:
2008 Ford F-250 Owner's Manual - JustGiveMeTheDamnManual.com

Simply click on the "Download Manual" link.

BTW, I was reading your manual, and you should have a "TPMS reset tool" provided with your owner's documentation...

For a 2008 the TPMS reset tool does not reset the pressures that set off the alarm. Because the rear tires are set at a higher pressure than the fronts, when you rotate them you have to let the computer know that the former front tire that is now on the rear should have a higher pressure. The reset tool simply tells the computer where each tire with its unique TPMS sensor is so that it knows what pressure to check for for each tire.

I don't have any owners documents, I bought the truck used.
