We have a 97 F-250 that starts up and runs fine, but after 20 minutes it starts to act up and then shuts down and will not start again until it is cold after 5 hours or so?

Could be ipr related. Either o-rings or the ipr itself. Check the pigtail to it as well.

Not sure, we got it after the owner passed and it had sat for a few years.

I think Thomas nailed it. I would go for bad IPR o-rings for a place to start.

Do you have a diagram or a link, for sensor and IPR location?

Thank you!

Wouldn't it be prudent to START with an oil change, given its unknown status?

I would start with an oil change. Although the IPR could be an issue, with a truck that has sit for that long an oil change needs to be at the top of the list

Meant to get back yesterday to respond. I wish I would have had my AE but didn't plan working on a truck at Thanksgiving. We are going to change the oil first and check IPR wiring. Then if needed pull IPR and check orings. By then the AE and truck will hopefully be in the same location. Really need to monitor ICP verses IPR duty cycle and watch what happens when it stumbles and fails. My son told me I should never leave without AE!

Thank you very much for taking time to respond!

Your son is a smart guy although having it with you doesn't always mean its going to work. Make sure your on their list for updates being emailed to you. I wasn't and this past summer needed it and it didn't work because I hadn't installed the update. I wasn't very happy, I told them I have this when I travel and when I have trouble I want it to work!!

AE is awesome from what I hear. I have never used it, but it comes in handy! I use torque pro on my android tablet. And have no complaints. Let us know how it goes.

That would be most frustrating. I wouldn't have wanted to be the one getting the phone call! lol. I may look into getting AE here at some point. I just have to get a laptop first. Mine fried and I never bothered replacing it since I have my tablet.
