2015 F150 3.5L clicking noise while driving

Think I have same issue
I am ever glad you posted this. Sounds like what I'm experiencing. I'll describe it as best I can and I uploaded a video to I tube so you can hear it yourself.
2015 F150 3.5L ecoboost 4x4 7weeks old 7500km(5000m)
First time put into 4x4 about 4 weeks ago. Initial engagement was very clunky. Heard and felt thumping noise when coasting but not under power. Only heard this noise when coasting in 4x4 high never in 2wd until now.
If I accelerate to about 50kmh and let off the fuel at about 42kmh it starts. Braking, shifting into neutral does not affect it. Frequency of knock changed with road speed.
Now in the last week it has started to do it in 2wd but ONLY WHEN IT IS 0c (32f) outside. When the tranny warms up it goes away.
So took it to dealer. They said an identification tag on the cat conv. was coming loose n dragging. They removed it. Took truck out to test and problem still there. Returned to dealer and took shop foreman out so he could here it. Left truck with them. Next day foreman took another new truck out and said it made same noise. Must be normal. I didn't agree but picked up truck. I then took a new f150 on a test drive myself and couldn't recreate the noise. This is when the temperature dropped and it started doing it in 2wd. Left tuck at dealer this morning and they have ordered a left front hub for it. I personally think it is an axle/transfer case issue. As you are having.
I uploaded a video of my issue to I tube for you to hear first hand. Please update with your progress and tsb #
Thanks for a great forum

Update: talked to dealership today. Now saying it is possibly front differential. From the location of the sound I agree. Now to see what happens.
Update: Ford wants them to open the diff and check it out rather than to replace entire component. Giving me truck back for weekend and will be dropping it off again on Monday.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have the TSB number and its been over a month waiting on parts. Still on back order according to my dealer. Not too happy about it but not much I can do other than wait. Ill see if I can obtain some info regarding the TSB number.

After putting about 2000 miles on the truck, I can safely say the noise is gone! I don't see an actual TSB number on the paperwork but it says SSM 45452. Looks like they replaced a planetary assembly and a ring gear. My dealer took good care of me as usual even though it took awhile to get this issue figured out.

I think I have the same problem on a 2016 5.0
Mine had the same problem except it's not a clunking sound like was shown in the video it is more like your old school speedometer cable when it was running out of oil or. It's almost like metallic sound. Has anybody had any success getting it fixed?
