My 56
#16
To get ready for paint Kyle’s body man installed the inside trim for the big window. In looking things over he went ahead and filled a few holes and made sure the doors fit so the gaps were nice. They finished up the bear claw door latches. As they adjusted the hood it took a lot of work to get it to fit right. We probable would have been better off time and cost wise starting over with a kit but it turned out fine. When I started the project I started with a 54 truck for the frame, inner fenders and radiator support. I did not know the 56’s air dams were different. They had done the hood fitting when we had to change the dams to the indented 56 style so the fitting needed some redoing.

The tires are Goodyear Wrangler the front are P215/75R15 the rear are 31X10.5R15LT. The rear fenders are a new design from Terry's F100s. They are 2 inch wider in the front and 3 inches in the rear. When you look down the side this puts the fender edges in a straight line. My rear end is from a 66 Mercury station wagon. When everything was mounted the tires still rubbed the fenders so we had to narrow the rear end about 2 inches on each side. The first pictures have smaller rear tires to get by until we figured it all out. the box is not tubed. My daughter took the pictures for me while we were picking corn. Next time she comes I will have her take one down the fender line.
