I am late to the party but welcome to FTE, the best Ford truck site on the World Wide Web!
That is not the truck I was imagining when I read your first post. Wow! Nice, love the color, it is in great shape.
I too have my Grandpa's truck which he bought new and I have kept it stock. Unfortunately mine was not in as good of shape. Grandpa used it hard on the farm and parked it out side while his John Deeres were in the tractor shed or the barn. I can show a before picture when I am at my PC.
And keep us updated and show us more pics!

WOW! That is a NICE truck!! You are fortunate that you got it handed down to you.
I was expecting kind of a beater and then I saw the pics. You made the right decision to join this forum. These people know their stuff.
These trucks are very basic and great to learn on. I always told my son to learn how it all works.
If you don't understand how it works and what is normal operation, you can't effectively troubleshoot a problem. It will be guessing and parts changing. That's frustrating and expensive.
Plenty of YouTube videos showing how points type ignition works, how generators work and basic electrical systems. Remember 6 volt positive ground too.
Learn everything you can about your new truck and you will both go a long way.
