Need a meeting of the minds on this one!! HELP!!!

I have another thread but I have done a lot of troubleshooting since then and am not getting good response on that thread.

The short story is my oil in the HPOP reservoir is draining overnight. I have replaced the quick fill check valve (not the seat), changed the LPOP, eliminated the injecotor o rings by disconnecting the lines and raising them so oil cannot drain out of them.

When I got home today I took the reservoir off the truck. The oil level is 2/3 down in the cup where the screen is. Where does the oil go to down there. That is where my problem lies and where my oil is draining. I took the quick fill check valve out and the remaining oil did not drain there so I don't think that is my problem. I am hoping I don't have to take the front cover off as I just did the LPOP and water pump recently.

Oil is draining down that far in the reservoir, or did you clean it up some? What year engine block? And does it leave you with a no start, or just a slow start as the LPOP rebuilds volume?

I have not cleaned any out. It is a 2003. It is still slowly draining. I took out the o ring/screen and made a mark on the wall. I bet it will be dry by morning. It will start after 20 or so seconds of cranking.

Thanks for posting the other link! I am on my phone.

Right. Once they fade back a few pages they're often forgotten.

I hope somebody shows up with a brilliant idea, because I'm to the point now that I'm thinking the front cover could be cracked..... But I'm not even going to think about suggesting that until every other avenue has been explored.

I briefly read your other post.

The Standpipe inside the HPOP prevents oil from draining. Have you examined it closely? The oil should not fall below the top of the Riser. It fills from the top. Crack in the Reservoir or Riser?

It is below that point and still draining. I pulled the reservoir off ( not just the top) without removing any oil.

I started thinking that today after some more reading. I didn't even know there was a front cover before today. I'm with you though I would like to explore more ideas before digging into that. This is my daily driver. I have been riding my motorcycle so I need this fixed soon and before it gets cold.

Maybe the oil pressure regulator valve or bypass but I have never messed with them.

Could those actually cause the HPOP reservoir to drain. I cannot tell by that diagram. Are there plugs that I can remove to trace the oil as it drains back to the pump/sump or filter?

I'm not sure, maybe somebody else can chime in on that one. You could probably find more info by searching the site on those.

Another thought would be to test the injectors for leaks under pressure. As Tugly calls it the "Cody test".
