Thanks for the update. There is definitely something to be said for no payment! I'm kinda thinkin' about keeping my 2012 long enough to get some equity out of it, then selling it to buy a late model Ranger. Either eliminate the payment altogether or at least lower it significantly; and also reduce the insurance premiums. Then I could put away more money into savings.

Each incident was similar in that they happened 3 - 5 minutes from leaving home for the first time in the day. Each time the engine cut out without warning under moderate hard acceleration going through 40-50 mph. Just silence in the engine, with a whole lot of unrelated warnings flashing on the screen. Then stop, put it N or P. start up and no issue. After it happened the second time I took it to the dealer (exactly 3 months ago today) they did a read out of the diagnostic computer with nothing found. 4 or 5 weeks later I had it happen again and didn't go back to the dealer. This morning it did it a 4th time and I went back to the dealer. Same result - nothing found in the diagnostic read out. One can imagine scenarios which could be serious if the power quit at the wrong time.
I don't know what to do next, other than I am considering spending some money to mount a recording video camera in the truck to record the dash to provide evidence to take to Ford of what happens. Any ideas about this situation?
Just a word of advice each time you take it back make sure they document your complaint and make sure you have them note it is a safety issue.

Man looking at the video and the rough pavement. I would say something was loose somewhere. Sorry it didn't work out better for you. I thought most lemon laws would let you turn in a vehicle for a safety issue. I know I had a 1990 Mits Eclipse that was turned in for warping front brake rotors. They had 3 chances to fix it before the lemon law would kick in. Then they would be given a four an final chance after being notified. Each state is different though.
Thanks for sharing your story.

Ironic! Last fall I sold my Journey back to Dodge as per the Ca Lemon Law. (Over heating transmission) Then, I took the money and bought my F150 with the 2.7L. In CA the dealer gets 3 chances to repair a safety problem and 4 chances for a non-safety item. The Lemon Law is also activated if the dealer has the vehicle in the shop for a total of 30 days or more. My F150 is much more comfortable than the Dodge and the 2.7L gets much better mileage than the Journey's 4-cylinder. Jag

I have several reasons why I'll never own another Dodge, but I'll save the Dodge bashing for another thread. The best thing that came out of my previous Dakota Sport was when I totaled it. I used the insurance money to buy second-hand 1995 Ranger! That was 15 years ago and haven't looked back since
Last year my Dad used Florida's lemon law to turn in his Gr. Caravan. He's now in a Nissan Frontier.

The lemon law process took quite a while to play out. I was awarded 110% of my new 2015 F150 cost in late April 2017. Because it was a lease vehicle Ford paid off the lease and sent me a check for the leftover money. Bottom line the truck was almost free for 2 years and 2 months I had it. After I turned it in to a dealer in May, I ordered a 2017 F150 configured the same way. Lariat Super Cab, FX4, 36 gal tank, tailgate step and leather. New truck came July 30. Some people are surprised that I'd get another one, but I always felt the problem was very unusual and Ford couldn't duplicate it so they couldn't fix it. See the 1st post in this thread for the problem description. Very happy with my new 2017 f150. have had it for a month and it is great!

Reps sent, I cut my check comments off short accidentally. You kept a level head through the process and didn't didn't bash Ford. Congrats on the new truck and for having the faith to give another F150 a chance.
