Smile 2015 Parking Brake Issue

Parking brake seems to work ok but I get a message "Parking Brake Limited Function Service Required".

Have dealer service appt 8/25 but would like to avoid it,

Any ideas appreciated.

Have cycled switch on/ off and used parking brake several times for 50 miles or so since truck developed message.

I could have caused this as the switch requires one to remember " pull on--push off" which is confusing me I guess! Maybe I pushed when I should have pulled or v/versa...

I remember by thinking of it like a little hand brake. I pull up to engage and push down to disengage. Otherwise the electronic brake is not overly intuitive to me (or a useful option).

I'm not sure how the system works, but I'd guess there is a servo for each rear wheel to engage the brake and perhaps on yours one of them is inop, giving full power on one wheel but nothing on the other so it "feels" alright.

You must have the electronic brake? I like the regular push to engage, push again to dis-engage on ours. The thing is either up or down.

Lever the col sounds like a trailer brake to me. Electric trailer brake perhaps.
