Yeah I did. It's basically stand alone.

did you have to run wires to the rear axle speed sensor to get the transmission to shift?

No, I used the speed sensor that was already one the dodge transfer case, since all that was still dodge. The ford sensor isnt being used at all.

More info on the fuel tank please!!!! What year Powerstroke is it from? Is the skidplate a Dent part or later model? Did the stock fuel gauge sending unit fit? I think I have about decided to go that route if I can find a plastic 38 gal instead of coating my tank.

No the harness wasnt to bad at all with that diagram I showed you, IF you know how to read them etc. But thats up to you. I really didnt want a manual trans because when I'm towing the rock crawler 8-12 hour trips its nice to just put it in drive and go. But since I'm now running twin turbos and all sorts of other **** my auto is built.

For the speedo I used a pretty cool box that takes the electric speed signal from the trans, converts it to a DC output signal that runs a small DC motor that spins the factory speedometer. You have to calibrate it (wicked easy) but its pretty neat!

I have factory cruise control so I needed the 5/8 end to go to the box on the firewall.

A non cruise truck would need this one.

My tank isnt plastic, but it is made for a diesel truck.

Amazon Amazon

Thats what I got. I used a sending unit from a 95 powerstroke and bought an electric adapter that corrected the continuity of the sender. I'm pretty sure I used the skid from the powerstroke as well and made my own filler neck out of the 79 ford filler neck and a 45* piece of exhaust tube and the rubber piece from the 79 that goes to the tank.

Honestly I dont like that electrical setup and it cost me like $150. I just ordered another 79 sending unit since mine was so rusted and im going to cut it apart and solder it to the 95 setup so the resistance is correct.

Got the rear axle all cleaned up, disk brakes on it, painted and installed with the lift. Also got the frame stripped, cleaned up and painted. When I pulled the old tank out I found a pretty big rot hole lol and some pretty nasty looking water/gas came out.

I got a skid plate from a 1995 powerstroke from a buddy and used that with my new 38 gallon tank for the rear as well after I got that painted up.

Got the front axle completely out and disassembled. Working on cleaning that up and converting it 8 lug.

what are the details on your suspension upgrades? I’m being told not to use this chassis for my swap. Front springs, rear and springs, etc?

What is your swap? And what are "they" telling you to not use? The 79 chassis? I'll have to do some digging now. I remember it was a PAIN figuring it all out. I had to piece all the parts together since it was a modern rear with the old front. It all was plenty rigid. I just HATED the 47RE. Honestly its why I sold the truck. Also driving 13 hours each way home 3 times a year in a 79 Ford was getting old.

I just used the F150 factory rear springs because it rode so awesome, but added rear air bags for when I was towing. I also ended up doing traction bars.

It just felt like a slush box until lockup, though it was working correctly and was all rebuilt. I had gone from a 6spd allison to that. Id have loved to put a 5R110 from a ford behind it or the newer dodge 5 or 6 spd auto. I just didnt enjoy the old school 4 spd.
