The only issue with running that it sits where the trans heat exchanger sits. Not sure if you plan to use that or not.

I flipped my manifold over and the turbo sits up. But I'm still running the 35

Been running mine for about 4-5 months and am glad I did it.

Ah yeah I looked into the super duty IC as well but I was worried about my radiator being that it was a 400 before so I figured id go with the dodge stuff that I knew kept it cool. I've read your build probably 10 times though so you've been a great inspiration! haha I saw how you flipped your manifold but I removed that exchanger off the side of the block so I think this will be a good options!

From what I read it was actually a trans fluid "heater" to help with cold weather since the coolant will be heating the fluid up to whatever temp the motor is. I didnt like that so I pulled it off and will just be running a nice big cooler up front.

Hey Ryan,

I just ran through your thread again quick and I might have missed it, but what did you do for your speedometer from the dodge trans to the ford?

You didn't miss anything........haven't hooked it up yet. I'm using my Garmin Rhino for speedo & odo.

I think I'm going to hold out and make an insert and put in new gauges behind the clear plastic lens. Will probably use a GPS speedo.

Ah haha alright, I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do using the 47RE. Its electronic not mechanical (not sure if your 47RH is the same?)

Also when you bought your new carpet to use the dodge tcase shifter did you just buy a 2wd carpet and cut your own hole? And who did you get the carpet from?

The 47RH has a VSS (electronic) also. You can also go to a speedometer shop and have them put in an electronic speedo head. Or apparently an output assy on an 80's chevy has a mechanical speedo. Tried to look for one, but couldn't find one. Didn't look really hard either.

The truck had somewhat new carpet. The hole for the stock tcase shifter just needed to be increased. I still have a hole where the trans shifter was, but I cover that up with my gloves Need to put in a patch.

Oh cool, well thanks! Hopefully mine will work out like that as well!

I got the cross member built tonight for the transmission. Now I gotta pull the motor and trans BACK out for the last time hopefully to clean and POR15 the frame, run all the new lines and wires, put the 38 gallon rear tank in (had to pull the front one to fit the trans), put the lift in, convert the front to 8 lug and swap the rear axle in.

Then the motor will go back in and the wiring will begin!

Here's the trans mount I used. I had to open up the holes a little bit closer to the rubber part.

Got a couple things done recently. I've been so busy with work and life I haven't had much time to get out in the shop.

Got the new Gen 3 exhaust manifold on and it looks great! Slid the HX40 on there and it fits perfect. Didnt get a pic of the turbo bolted to it yet.

Also got the frame plated and the front cross member is getting there. I moved the new cross member forwards so I could make it straight. Made sure the fan and radiator didnt hit as well.

Also got the new tires in for the truck along with the rest of the parts! I have to POR15 the frame now, then all new stainless lines, get the fuel tank in, new axle, convert the front to 8 lug, get the lift in and then I can get the motor back in. Then start on wiring.

Finally got some time to work on the truck this weekend!

Got the rear axle all cleaned up, disk brakes on it, painted and installed with the lift. Also got the frame stripped, cleaned up and painted. When I pulled the old tank out I found a pretty big rot hole lol and some pretty nasty looking water/gas came out.

I got a skid plate from a 1995 powerstroke from a buddy and used that with my new 38 gallon tank for the rear as well after I got that painted up.

Got the front axle completely out and disassembled. Working on cleaning that up and converting it 8 lug.
