Bought a '70 3 weeks ago for $1000 & this week got offered a '68 for $500. Work has started on the '70 to get stuff up to a reliable standard & the paint job starts this week.
I'm in Northern LA County (Antelope Valley) & want/need a '70 GT hood.
Hey sounds cool a GT hood is hard to come upon, i believe that the 71 gt hood will fit also. if you come upon more than one let me know i am looking for one too
They have this place in Anaheim that has only ford "junked" cars and trucks i don't remember the name of it but if you want me to find out I'll get it, they might have something there, I'm still wanting to check it out my self, if i do I'll let you know if i find anything. maybe this weekend i will hed down there and see what they got.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks!! Back in 79 I was working at the local Ford dealer in B'ham, Al cleaning cars for a summer job before I headed out to college.. I had my eye on a silver/blue Ranchero and drooled over it every day for 3 months...not even knowing they would stop makin' them!! Course had to settle for my '76 Nova with the in-line 6 and AM radio for the next few years working through College and all, but never forgot the silver/blue Ranchero... Well after 25 years I just bought me 79 silver/blue Ranchero Brougham just last night...It's shipping out of Seattle to B'ham in a few days and I feel like my kids do at Xmas morning jumpin' to get their hands on that box under the tree... I'm fixin' to get some pics posted if I can figure out how..
It ain't no 71 or even a 59, but maaan it feels GOOOOD!!!
Managed to get the headlights working on mine today after 3 weeks of faffing about. Was so happy I celebrated by throwing a set of Wagner halogens on there ($36 for all 4).
SWEET Sounds like your having fun with it i always celebrate when ive been working on somthing on a car and get it. have fun with it and let us know what else is next
Sweet ride. The 70,71 and 72 years are my favorite. I'm looking for one of these three years in a Torino. You know the story... owned a sweet 72 Torino sport 351 auto factory hood scoop magnum 500 window sticker etc. Sold it to work on a 4x4 project.
I kick myself daily.
Good luck with yours.
My favorite years for the Ranchero would be the 68-71. I think the 68-69 interiors were the best with the 4 pod gauges. And I just love the front ends of the 70-71. Plus, those 4 years had the hottest engines available.
By the way, I own a 1970 Ranchero GT, 351 C 4v, FMX automatic, A/C, PDB, P/S, have the owners manual, original temp. owners card + build sheet.
