My father drove a 1951 Ford which his father had given him, and which his grandfather has purchased a few months before his death. That truck is now mine and waits for restoration or resurrection of some sort. I hope to have it on the road soon, and to someday pass it on to my son who has just turned one.
My dad had a 69 F-250, a 71 Courier, and a 78 F-150. He also had a few Ford cars aswell. Basically he was a Ford guy.
No my interest didn't come from him. I just got them because they had what I wanted.
Make, model, year, etc. Don't mean squat to me, if they have the engine equipment 4x4 or whatever that I want or need then that is what I buy.
My dad had a 1979 f150 that he purchased brand new. Now i have it and will be passing it down to my son who's almost two . The ONLY thing we drive are Fords.
My dad bled Chevy orange but he had a 1976 F-150 and a 1989 F-150. The '76 had the 360 in it and proved to be as big of a steaming pile of crap as his Chevys were. The '89 was bought used but was an excellent truck.
My grandfather bled blue and my love of Fords came from him.
My dad's first new truck was a 1988 F250. Loved that truck! Right up to the time that the truck dropped from the lift at the tire shop (it was either Sears or Firestone). Just was never the same after that. My goal beofre I retire is to buy a new Ford for camping trailer purposes.
