Does anyone have a pac-brake exhaust brake?

I was looking into them, apparently it's a $1100 kit. I wondered why the cost was so high and did a little research and apparently the exhaust brake comes with a complete on-board air kit with a little 1gal tank.

Seeing as the ford horn is a little quiet and towing heavy loads up steep hills with blind turns is a little sketchy -- I've often wondered what it would take to hook up a louder horn.

Seems like the answer to that question is an air horn, which would require on-board air. I dropped the idea after learning this, because I figured an on-board air system would be very expensive and not worth the investment cost, but now I'm rethinking things.

If the pac-brake PXRB exhaust brake does come with it's own stand-alone air system, how difficult would it be to hook up an air horn as well?

Does anyone have experience with the pac-brake or hooking up an air horn?

It'd be great to have on-board air in case I get a flat tire or have to run air tools to work on heavy equipment, and having a really friggin loud horn would definitely take some of the stress out of hauling heavy loads up steep hills with blind turns.

Please advise, thanks!

I have never heard of it before, people usually just use the EBPV as an exhaust brake usually.

I've already replaced my turbo pedestal with a non-EBPV pedestal and replaced the turbo outlet flange with an non-EBPV unit so that's not an option.

Just got off the phone with pacbrake, they said that the PXRB exhaust brake comes with it's own complete on-board air system including a half-gallon tank and 33% duty cycle compressor. They said not to let the compressor run for more than 3 minutes because it can get too hot. Also said that the tiny on-board air system is good for the brake, an air horn system, rear airbag suspension, and topping up tires that are low or under-inflated.

Mentioned that they compressor is a 1.2CFM flow rate.

Also said they sell standalone on-board air systems, highest output being a 3.4CFM 100% duty cycle compressor with a 2.5gal air tank.

Either way, none of their systems are really rated for air tools or continued operation.

Pumping up air suspension, filling under-inflated tires, operating exhaust brake or air-horn ---- yes, but anything more demanding, certainly not.

I'm not familiar with Pac-brake, but I do have an air horn well train horn

The air horn semi truck horn is an easy one if you already have OBA. You would need an electric solenoid switch, (some people use the horn button on the steering wheel).

Here is a vid.
