5.0 to 5.8

SO I'm having my my truck looked at for low oil pressure problems and a loud tapping. Mechanic friend thinks it may be a spun bearing. But he's gonna dig in and find out. Just in case it is a bearing, I've been pricing long blocks to drop in and since I may have to do that, it has me wondering, what would I need to swap from a 5.0 to a 5.8? I know it will physically drop in with no changes to anything but I'm wondering about sensors and such. I'm gonna keep the speed density system, I think.

Any help, opinions, input, and words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom

To keep the SD system, you'll need a 5.8 computer there. Otherwise everything else as far as sensors should be the same. You'll need a 5.8 upper and lower intake as well.

Yeah I posted a thread in another section cause I felt it would be more visible and they also brought up that a lot of the belt driven accessories would have to be replaced.

Well, not necessarily the accessories themselves, but the brackets that hold them would (any that bolt to the heads, which sit further out with the taller deck height).

The bracket are the same on the later years, the earlier ones used an adapter on the heads to use the same brackets on the different blocks

Oh ok. I went ahead and exuded to just keep the 302. It's already gonna be an expensive enough project so to keep costs down, I'm not gonna swap up. As much as I'd love to for the small bump in hp and big bump in low end torque.

So before it goes in, I'm gonna paint the block , valve covers, and intake manifold in hi temp paint but I'm not sure what color(s) to do. Anyone have any suggestions for a color or color scheme that Ford used, regardless of era? I'm not worried about a paint scheme matching the era of was used it as long as it looked cool. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks
