Good news - It's the easiest to access HPOP oil line.

Bad news, seems like nobody has ever heard of such a thing. I'm not finding a single place to buy it over the counter. help?

That maybe a ford only part. If you cant wait for an online order from riff raff. I would disconnect the hose and go to my closest hydraulic store and have them make you a line. Even NAPA stores can make hydraulic lines with fittings and all.

At the hydraulic store now. What psi are these things rated for?

So, I got a new line made, stuffed it in, and everything works again. All is well. I'll replace the other line soon.

Good deal. What psi did you go with? I think 3000 psi or above would be sufficent for stock.

crud. it's rated for 2500psi working load, but it'll go higher. this is temporary, until the correct lines I ordered show up.

That out to work for now. Just take it easy. If you start leaking oil you'll know where to look .

3500 is about the top for these engines for the most part.

Dealer or riffraff. A hyd hose IMO is fine if of proper materials.

Glad to hear you're up and running again. Breaking down on the way home with the truck is a nightmare. I went and picked mine up down south and had a whole cache of extra parts with me "just in case". Turns out all I had to do was chase down an electrical gremlin with the turn/stop lamps before we left to come home with it and it ran like atop all the way home from Valdosta. Had me sweating bullets for the first hour or so though. Man, this thing has come a long way since then....

Glad you're back on the road! The rating of the hoses is derated for safety purposes so it should be fine. I am by no means saying to use a lower pressure rated hose, just that it will do until you get the correct ones.

Now I need to resolve t he fuel leak. At idle, it's got a steady drip of fuel running down the bell housing. Ideas as to where it's coming from?

Also it shifts hard and the overdrive on/off switch keeps blinking.

Could be anywhere up top, there are several places a leak could occur.

I would get those codes checked on the trans. You need to take it to Ford, or a Trans shop to get the codes read. Its anyone's guess otherwise. Parts store scanners can not read the codes in the trans.

Edit: Check the lines going to the back of the heads, there are o-rings that go bad there and can cause a leak.

Lots of spots for fuel leaks down the back. Things can pool in the valley of the motor and then run down the bell housing. I'd check the fuel bowl first.

Blinking OD light means there's a stored code for the transmission. It can't be read by cheap scanners or parts stores. You'll need to take it to a good shop to read them.

Edit: Thomas is faster than me!
