Working outside

As with most of us I don't have enough room so I do a lot of my work outside. Well earlier this year it was ants thousands under my donor truck with me but when feeding brake lines the other day under my F1 I found a new friend.

Yep, that time of year. Every summer I have one that comes and stay's for a month or so. I'm sure it's the same one, as it get's a little bigger each year.

Nasty snakes, fire ants, kudzu, and humidity measured by the pound - no thank you.

I think it's a black rat snake, Black Rat Snake

Not venomous, no interest in people. Just creepy.

A few years ago I had this vicious killer next to my truck. My neighbor's won't let their kids out in the neighborhood anymore after I told them about it. Dogs and cats are going missing too.

It was all I could do to lift it up with a stick to put it where I could get a picture.

I always jump on my riding mower when I go after parts on my parts truck in the weeds. I mow around it two or three time to get the weeds down and scare off any critters that may be lurking in the old cab. I have a deal with snakes. If I don't see them, I won't kill them.

I don't mind telling you that I was under there with him a while before I seen him move just a foot from me he blended with the tire so well.
