Question lowering my 2003 F 150

I have heard of a lot of different lowering kits for my truck....which is the best? Also, a local shop said they could de-arc my leaf springs via machine and that it would be as effective as a shackle and hanger set. Is this true? Its a lot cheaper and I am thinking it is for a good reason. Thanks.

i would recommend that you let them dearch your leaf springs and throw some drop coils in the front along with a some shocks. After that you will ride like a cadillac.

Wouldnt it decrease the integrity of the leaf spring over a long period of time? Also, wouldnt the ride be much more stiffer since the leaf springs would be more straighter than normal? I would sacrifice paying more for the proper job done right the first time. Im only looking at a 2/4 drop, nothing too slammed.
