I've heard Stu is pretty good at finding unicorns and chasing rainbows! Hahaha.
Sweet Truck. Glad it has found a good home. Looked like a couple pretty nice trucks there at the auction as well. and Stu is correct, I have very little self control when old trucks are being auctioned off especially with those ranges of prices.

No joke, there were some screaming good buys at this auction. There was a guy that was pretty clearly filling himself a transporter with Power Wagons. There was a '59 iirc W200 civilian Power Wagon that could have also fit on my trailer had I not kept my hands in my pockets. I think this was the first time I went intending to buy and backed out. Never hauled an empty trailer back home I don't believe. Stu

Edit - I think I did sniff out a couple of those unicorns that are now occupying your time. Stu

Thats true you found two. But didn't the third one find you? ( when your really good they start to find you) its like this magical ora that starts to surround you and they are drawn in to you...

I'm glad Mark got the F4 but I wonder if he considered checking your pulse when you didn't buy anything.l

I came home from an auction once with an empty trailer. It was horrible, only thing worse than that was coming home with a load of old tires on lockring wheels.... Doh!

You're of course right. I almost did an edit of the edit to admit that your F-2 found me, and to your strong credit you rescued it. That story continues to amaze me, across WY in a winter storm! BTW, how's the transfer case coming along?

At the auction, when my ambivalence lifted a very strange sense of peace settled over me. And I just focused on Mark's and Ryan's bidding. It was absolutely right that they bought (stole) it. Stu

I didnt think to check and see if Stu was breathing when he told us he was out. I do recall him saying that he found some inner peace. I was busy waging war in my mind. The boss lady was in a good mood because all I had bought was a wheel and some half dead tires for next to nothing. She knew I was gonna defer to Stu on the coleman so all was well. Until the starting quarterback took a knee and the coach looked at the third string and said warm up. Thats when the war started and I wished I had some of that inner peace Stu was talking about. We figured out our high bid and thought of a couple excuses. I stopped at 450, the next guy went 475. I was deep in thought when the auctioneer said I got 500 and my son had his hand up. At that time I figured the bed alone was worth more than that so I raised my hand up to 600 and the other guy stopped. It was a good thing because 600 was my new number after 450. Hard to say if I would have stopped there. I will say I felt pretty darn good the next morning. No regrets, not 1. Thanks again Stu, for the nudge if nothin else.
