I'm going to give Ford the benefit of the doubt until we see the actual truck. They did a good job with the 2015 F-150 and the 2017 Raptor looks pretty good too. I'm sure Ford will present something appealing and it's not that ugly thing we keep seeing above....I hope.

Yes it looked super stout, years back when ford was still at the Yucca proving ground they would come through town towing flat beds that had a large box bolted on that the drivers said was full of lead for towing tests.

Looks like a beast under that camo!!

I can't wait to see this baby uncovered. Another reason to get up each morning!

I'm betting that it will be absolutely stunning when unveiled.
Betting to the point that I will be ordering on day 1, even without seeing the camo removed if need be.

There are a couple of indications that the body we will see for the 2017 model year may not be the same body we will see in 2019/20. In other words, the next Super Duty might receive a mid cycle refresh earlier in it's new life than typical seen in previous cycles.

There is also a chance that the design we saw in the Jalopnik picture could be a rejected design or perhaps the design was still being massaged - we never got any confirmation that it was the final design.

And, the cell phone pic may have been purposely leaked by a dissenter who wanted to prove a point by allowing the raw response of the potential market to weigh in.

The strange info I received over three years ago concurs with the chance of a "major" redesign in 19'.
I've been waiting for Ford to retire this dinosaur design for almost four years, hoping to order something that doesn't look like my first SD from 1998.

While researching and hoping a refresh might actually take place for the 15' MY, a conversation on line developed (take it for what its worth). I spoke with a gentleman (PM) who claimed to have previously worked on the interior portion of the redesigned SD.
He told me (back in 2013) that I would be waiting a long time, and that the design would be pushed back from 2016 to 2017 due to complete focus on the new F-150 design and launch.
He was spot on.

He also told me that an all new, complete ground up redesign would be released in 2019 in order to lay the groundwork to develop and meet the new upcoming Federal fuel mileage standards.
This is a possibility because what we may be seeing for the 2017' MY might just be the current rolling chassis with some updates, along with the F-150 cab, and a new box and front clip. The 17' MY may be the lesser invested refresh year, with more dramatic changes to come as they work toward the new Federal regulations.
Ford had to change something. 18 years of the same design makes it about 14 years too long.

That is funny, because I had heard some time ago that the 'new' 2017 Super Duty would not be much more than the new aluminum F-150 cab and box on the existing chassis/powertrain. Of course, the front clip would be unique to the SD. The other interesting thing I heard was that the 450 and 550 would continue as they are, with the existing steel sheetmetal and cab. Kind of funny the new 650 and 750 still use the old Super Duty cab (supposedly with composite doors?). FWIW, I do not consider the sources I heard this from all that reliable.

OLD P/G

THE OLD PROVING GROUNDS WAS ACTUALLY IN KINGMAN,(NOT YUCCA) I USED TO GO THERE FOR FORD ALL THE TIME IN THE 90'S

I remember many times being in the ghost town of Oatman AZ and Ford trucks would come screaming up, over the top and down the hill on old Highway 66 dragging trailers loaded with huge concrete blocks or dragging up the hill between Laughlin/Davis Dam and Kingman. I have two cousins and a couple other shirt tail relatives that all retired from Yucca and can tell some great stories.

NO IFS IN THE FUTURE

I WORK ACROSS FROM THE X-GARAGE AND SEE THEM EVERY DAY...
AWESOME SOLID FRONT AXLE IS WHAT THEY ARE FITTED WITH

I saw an entire FLEET of Nissan test models last year entirely wrapped in a similar black/white camo. The entire crew stayed at the Holiday Inn in Frisco, CO, right off I-70 where the did the Rumble in the Rockies HD Shootout test. It was seriously 30+ cars and SUVs, plus several trucks hauling test load trailers.

I have actually been on the property twice with my area manager back when I was a Snap-On tools distributer in the 90's and it was in Yucca, AZ

I have a good friend that works for Harley Davidson which is leasing a portion and uses the speedway oval for endurance testing and he works in Yucca, AZ.

I'll settle this debate..

Ford's Arizona Proving Ground is in Wittmann, AZ. Just outside Phoenix.

The Yucca Proving Grounds was sold to Chrysler in 2007. No longer a Ford facility.

No Proving Grounds in Kingman, pretty sure the man who only speaks in caps was wrong about anything being in Kingman.
