I'm looking and I'm not 100% sure there is a back plate behind the waterpump?
I see 1 gasket at the waterpump and I can't tell if it's casting or a plate? I I can't tell if there is a second gasket after what kind of looks like a plate?
I did just replace the upper radiator hose, it had a very small leak at times.

Where are you located?
I was just going to get a new back plate from summit for $20.
The waterpump is only a year old but I think it's just a cheap replacement.
But the might have not put the back plate back on.
And if the back plate is installed, then I figured a high flow pump would do it, because if I'm driving and rpms are at 1500 and starts to get pretty hot then I just turn overdrive off, which bumps up to 2000rpm then the temp immediately drops down.
My hoses are not collapsing either.

So I pressure tested the system, help 15psi.
But when it was at operating temp the upper radiator hose would collapse but have pressure under idle.
Also burped the system with a burpper, and the funnel would fill up then Darwin down and repeat that a bunch of times.
Then when I shut the truck off, it literally shot all my coolant out the funnel.
Help!!!

Flush complete, filled with coolant and burped it with my burpper of the tool truck, and put the ford radiator cap on.
I drove it for a couple milesand did great! And gauge stayed right in the middle the whole time and the hottest it would get is to the M after getting on it, then fan would kick on for a min then drop back down! And it's working great!
But......... I think the flush cleaned out a crack in the radiator and its leaking.
So I need a radiator.
And if it don't even over heat with a crack then a radiator should solve all my problems. Even tho it's new but looks like a cheap replacement.

So I just ended up getting a radiator at Oriley auto, has a lifetime warranty so I put that in with new lower radiator hoses and some Lucas cooling system treatment to run cooler.
And.... Well..... It does good but on the way to work this morning, "first drive" once it got to operating temp it got to the L on normal and kind of stayed there till I gave it alittle gas.
But it would usually stay on the R and it would get to the M and the fan would kick on and would drop it to the O.
I'm hoping that there is just a tini bit of air still in the system.
When I installed the radiator I burped what I could and the filled the resivoir and inch or so over cold fill line, and 2 drive cycles later it was just under cold fill, so that tells me more air came out.
So I topped it off and I'm going to keep driving it.

So after driving it to work and stuff and replacing the coolant temp sender for the gauge. It still gets real hot......
So I guess I might have bad head gaskets or a crack or bad water pump.
No oil in coolant or coolant in oil....
No smoking out the exhaust either.
I'm done with this truck......
Ready to just drop a new motor in...
