Thanks guys.
That sounds like it would of been pretty good Bob!
This day needs to hurry up and be done. Gotta head home shower and change then head back to Buffalo wild wings for a going away party for a friend (deploys to Spain for 6 months). Some chicken wings and a few cold beers sounds good for dinner, and I'm already starving.

Yesterday did kind of suck, the other day wife's car (07 Chevy equinox) developed a gassy smell. Couldn't find a leak anywhere, but noticed the gas cap was extremely loose so I ordered a new one. Yesterday I guess it had enough that it finally spilled over. Fuel started dripping from the tank, after some research it appears they are known for a connection on the pump cracking and leaking. Little more research shows they had a recall on the problem, but it was only offered in 4 states. Texas, Arizona, California and one other out that way. Napa lists the pump at $704, carquest my price is $600 (I have a account with them) autozone is $475, rock auto is $317 for a ac Delco, finally got up with the dealer and they can get it for $232 so guessentially the dealer it is. Only bad thing is the car sets so low and exhuast runs threw the tank it'll be almost impossible to change with out a lift.

Wow benztech! Gotta love the funky smell of antifreeze on a hot summer day :/
77mud that sucks man, is there no access hole above it where you can get to the pump & housing from inside the vehicle?
I am being sent out town for work, leaving for Virginia in a couple of hours. Not even sure how long I will be gone, most likely about 2 weeks.
Hey does anybody remember how back in the day, Ford used to brag their FMX transmission was so tough you could shift it in reverse while driving down the road, and it wouldn't hurt anything but the back tires? Well I have an FMX tranny in my 69 truck and yesterday driving down hwy 42 I accidentally hit the shifter and knocked it into R at about 45 mph. The back tires screetched the motor died I immediately hit N to let it coast. Fired the engine back up and put it in D and it worked fine the rest of the day. I can't believe I didn't **** my trans but it appears maybe it really is a tough old bird.

Larry I half way think our newer cars are designed that way so we won't work on them ourselves.
Josh, I've never in my life seen a radiator blow like that one. If it was pressure that did that, the spring in the radiator cap should have been weak enough to let that pressure off. I almost wonder if you have a head gasket leaking, and putting pressure from a combustion chamber into the cooling system, or a crack in a cylinder wall

Cracker, no its not I spent a good bit of time yesterday trying to find one, but fuel tank is right under rear seat. Seat would have to be unbolted which would be fine.... if there was a access hole but there's not.

Bob I agree, I changed the throttle body in this car a couple months back. They had a coolant line run around and bolted onto the throttle body studs. There wasn't enough slack in the metal line to get it off the studs so I ended up having to bend the bracket around and remove the throttle body.
Also the fact that you can't change a TPS on the Chevy sucks. $150 TB that if on my ford would of been a $20 TPS. Wife is tired of the Chevy already had it 11 months and have had several issues with it, she is ready to trade it in.

I would never do it on purpose thats for sure! My trip to VA is postponed, looks like the union and the company are going to continue to negotiate and work without a strike. Although that could change at a moments notice I reckon!

Bob, I've never seen anything like that. I limped it home and stuck it in the garage. I wasn't even a mile from the house when it happened.
John,
Glad the trans survived a reverse drop at speed. I wouldn't try that with a new transmission.
Larry, definitely are. That is the main reason for the new annoying engine covers, to discourage people from working on their own vehicles.
