Help with 79 f250 tow rating?

I'm wondering what the maximum gcwr of my 79 crew cab f250 is. Tag says 7700 gvwr. I'd estimate th cub weight being 4,000- 4,500. If that matters to you. What is the maximum amount of weight I can put on the truck without breaking something? I'm running a mostly stock 400 with a nv4500 transmissio and a Dana 60. The trans is stronger than the stock np435 if that matters. What do you guys think?

According to those sheets...any load more than about 4000lbs and it is not recommended.....

dumb.

I would do what you feel your brakes and suspension can handle, while paying attn to tongue wt.

My interpretation based on the sheets and assuming it is a 2wd from 7700 gvwr given is... you can haul a 7000 lb trailer with recommended 4.10 ratio, supercooling, weight distributing hitch and really need trailer brakes (tow package).

Yes...after looking at that again..i would change my previous answer. The trailer wt row has(d) me confused...it does appear now the recommended max trailer and load wt is 7000...or GCWR 14700 or GVWR 7700 for a crew cab 2wd. Whichever one you hit first!
